Why did you decide to become a personal trainer?
Keeping fit has always been a personal passion. After I had children and was a “stay at home mom” I wanted to learn as much as I could about anatomy, kinesiology, and nutrition, so I began studying for my certifications in 1996. Since then, I have trained people of all types and even operated my own personal training studio. I now enjoy managing the Wellness Department as well as continuing my personal training career at Club Julian 24-Hour Fitness.
What excites you most about your work at Club Julian?
I enjoy providing a safe workout environment for our members. It is very important to me that our members receive expert guidance from the Club Julian training staff, which I am confident that they do because we have some AWESOME trainers! What makes me happy is to hear positive feedback from the members about how much they love coming to Club Julian and how many friendships have developed over the years between the members. Club Julian is truly a unique fitness club!
What should someone expect when they train with you? What do you expect from them?
When a member schedules a training appointment with me, they should expect me to take an interest in what their goals are and what their health concerns are. I listen so that I can make the most of their training session. What I expect from the member is simply to show up for their session on time and try to do their best during each session. I also expect them to have fun!
What is your favorite type of workout to do personally?
My favorite type of workout is circuit training with weights, machines and cables. I like to target at least 2-3 major muscle groups per workout session. I also throw a little cardio into my routine as well, either before of after to keep the heart rate up.
What is your favorite sport/sports team?
Steelers Football – of course!
