Have you or a family member been touched by the darkness of Alzheimer’s disease?  If you have, you are certainly not alone. According to recent reports from the Alzheimer’s Association, one in three seniors will die while afflicted with the disease.  It is now the 6th leading cause of death in the United States (up 145% since 2000).  Nearly 6 million individuals suffer from this devastating disease today, and they are supported by a network of 16 million unpaid caregivers who all too often anguish along with their afflicted loved ones.

But through the darkness, there is always hope.  And this month, Club Julian invites you to help us find the light that could clear the path to a cure.

As part of our 29th March Anniversary Celebration, Club Julian will be accepting donations for the Alzheimer’s Association both online and at the Club.  The effort is being spearheaded by CJ group fitness instructor Cindy Janicko, who in partnership with other CJ instructors, will hold “The Longest Day Workout” on Saturday, March 21st at Club Julian from 8:00-10:30am.  The “Longest Day Workout” will combine Cindy’s popular STEP, POUND, and HEAVY BEATS classes into one marathon sweat session that will surely be both fun & challenging, and hopefully inspiring, to all who participate.

“The Longest Day is the day with the most sunlight — the summer solstice,” explains Cindy.  “And it’s the day the Alzheimer’s Association calls on everyone to fight Alzheimer’s disease by raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research.”

Any member who attends all three of Cindy’s March 21st classes or makes a donation of $50 or more will receive a “Longest Day” t-shirt.  Club Julian will promote the event as a kick-off event for the national “Longest Day” fundraising drive that culminates on June 20, 2020.

Club Julian is proud to support Cindy and the Alzheimer’s Association during our 29th Anniversary month!  Can you help? Cash donations are now being accepted in the collection box at the front desk or donate online by clicking on the “DONATE NOW” button on Cindy’s page.
